The report of a disturbance at a Chapin Street address in late January has resulted in the arrest of a Canandaigua man following an investigation by Canandaigua Police.

The investigation determined that Sean Rankin had allegedly violated a stay-away order of protection by going to the protected person’s home.

Rankin was arrested on a warrant for Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Family Offense and was later transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
