A Montour Falls man has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge in Schuyler County.

Prosecutors say 43-year-old Christopher Yaw pleaded guilty on February 26 in Schuyler County Court to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a Class A-II felony. He was sentenced by Judge Hon. Matthew C. Hayden, a second felony offender, to nine years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision. Yaw was also ordered to pay $270 in restitution.

Authorities say Yaw was arrested on September 15, 2025, after a search warrant was executed at his home. During the search, investigators reportedly found more than two ounces of crystal methamphetamine, along with meth manufacturing equipment, digital scales, and packaging materials. Police also said he was in possession of stolen property, including an e-bike and a dirt bike.

The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, and the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by Schuyler County District Attorney Jeremy Hourihan.
