A three-time convicted felon from Schuyler County is back in jail after being found in a car this week that allegedly had drugs and a 9-millimeter semi-automatic handgun inside.
Police say that during a traffic stop in Corning, the gun was found to be loaded and unregistered. 41-year-old Shane Jacobs of Burdett, and 47-year-old Charles Sweeney the Third, of Corning, were each charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.
Jacobs, and Sweeney, who has two previous felony convictions, were sent to Steuben County Jail without bail.
Further charges are pending.
