A Clifton Springs man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Canandaigua.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle Monday on State Route 5&20 for multiple traffic violations. During the roadside investigation, deputies identified the front seat passenger as 34-year-old Kenneth Patane.  Authorities say further investigation determined Patane was allegedly in possession of cocaine. He was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Patane was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
