A violent incident at the Elmira Correctional Facility resulted in the arrest of an inmate.
LeMont Pinckney allegedly knocked another person unconscious by repeatedly punching him in the face. According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, the 28-year-old broke the jaw of the victim. Pinckney, who lives in Elmira, was charged with felony assault.
Following his arraignment, Pinckney was sent back to the Chemung County Jail.
