An inmate at the Cayuga County Jail has been arrested for attacking a custody officer as he was completing his rounds.

It’s alleged Sincere Harrison struck the officer in the head multiple times with a closed fist. After gaining control of Harrison, the officer was able to lock the inmate into his cell with the help of another officer. It was later determined that a handcuff key was missing. A search of Harrison’s property turned up the key. Harrison was charged with assault and promoting prison contraband, both felonies.

The 24-year-old was arrested back in August after he attempted to take an Auburn Police Officer’s weapon during an incident.
