Cayuga County Inmate Charged with Criminal Contempt

A Montezuma man is facing a Criminal Contempt charge after violating an order of protection.

According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, David Kalet communicated with the protected party of an order of protection while incarcerated at the Cayuga County Jail. The 36-year-old was arrested Friday, charged with the misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket for January 17 at Sennett Town Court.

Kalet remains at the jail on unrelated charges.
