A Canandaigua woman was arrested following a reported disturbance at a Sly Street residence.

Canandaigua Police say that on January 8, officers responded to a disturbance call at the address. Following an investigation, 53-year-old Mauren Murphy was charged with Harassment in the Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Investigators determined that Murphy allegedly slapped another person during a verbal argument while a child was present in the residence.

Murphy was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
