Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Anthony Battle, of Webster, on Thursday after a reported larceny at Walmart in Hopewell.

Deputies say Battle placed $58.91 worth of merchandise into a reusable bag and left the store without paying. He was later stopped by police and taken into custody.

Battle was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket for the Hopewell Town Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
