A Canandaigua man is charged with falsely reporting an incident after he allegedly lied about the status of a dog prior to turning it over to the Ontario County Humane Society.

On April 8th, Danni-Lynn Scott contacted the Humane Society and reported he had secured a stray dog that was running around the Brookside Apartment complex where he lives. After not being able to find its owner, Scott turned the dog over the Shelter. A short time later, a witness called the Shelter to inform them the dog, named Olaf, was not a stray and was taken care of by Scott for several days before he determined he was unable to keep the Border Collie mix because it didn’t get along with his cat.

Scott was charged with falsely reporting an incident and released on an appearance ticket for Hopewell Town Court.
