A Bath man has been charged with trespassing after police responded to a burglary in progress on Monday morning.

It was reported to Bath Police that when a Pine Street resident returned home, he found a man he did not know inside. When officers arrived on scene, they quickly detained 24-year-old Richard Snyder and charged him with criminal trespass.

Snyder was released on an appearance ticket following his arraignment at the Steuben County Jail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
