An Auburn woman was ticketed after being involved in a two-car accident just before 7 a.m. Tuesday at the intersections of State Route 318 and 14 in Phelps.
An investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office determined Jessica Smith was operating a Kia West on State Route 318 and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto southbound State Route 14. Sandra Hill, of Rochester, was operating a Hyundai east on the Thruway offramp and continuing straight on 318. Smith is alleged to have failed to yield while making a left-hand turn, which resulted in a collision with Hill’s car.
Both drivers were taken to Geneva General Hospital for a checkover.

Phelps and North Seneca Ambulance assisted at the scene along with the Oaks Corners Fire Department.
