A man who was recently released from prison is back behind bars following his arrest by the Auburn Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an unknown trouble at a home on Owasco Street shortly before 10 Thursday night. An investigation revealed that Shawn Buck was allegedly in violation of a full stay away order of protection as he was in the presence of the protected party, who is under the age of 18. As a result, Buck was charged with felony criminal contempt due to having a previous conviction of criminal contempt in December of 2023.

Buck was transported to the Cayuga County Jail for Centralized Arraignment. The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office recommended that the 49-year-old be held without bail.
