An Auburn man has been charged with felony assault after police say he struck his 71-year-old father in the face with a cellphone charger. Police say the victim suffered injuries to his face and head as a result.
38-year-old Matthew Malenick is also accused of damaging part of a porch railing during the altercation at the Frances Street home. Malenick was charged with felony assault and felony criminal possession of a weapon after being previously convicted of a crime.
Malenick was brought to Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
