Canandaigua – William R. “Bill” Palmer, age 63, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his daughter, Colette; two grandchildren, Addie and Vinny; three siblings, Laurie Zitzer, Ken Palmer, and Matt Palmer; two nephews, Noah and Zac; and his niece, Megan. He was predeceased by his parents.
Bill was born in Canandaigua and was the son of Forrest H. and Jeanne M. (Freer) Palmer. He attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1980. Bill earned associate degrees from SUNY Morrisville in Auto Service and FLCC in Computer Sciences.
He had lived in Louisiana, Colorado, and Wyoming with his father, building and remodeling homes. Bill later turned his focus to electronics and computers, where he was known for his exceptional knowledge and the ability to fix the unfixable.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding his ATV and later his Harley Davidson.
The Palmer family would like to thank the many true friends Bill had who were there for him during challenges in life.
