Middlesex – Richard L. “Dick” Cooper, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with his family by his side. He is survived by two sons, Cyle Cooper (fiancé, Patty Hint) and Phillip Cooper; three grandsons, Gavin, Ashtin, and Julian; brother, Gary (Melody) Cooper; and two nephews, Mark (Samantha) Cooper and Greg (Kelly) Cooper. He was predeceased by his son, Richard L. Cooper, Jr., in 2005; and brother, Colby Leaphear.
Dick was born in Canandaigua and was the son of Maynard and Virginia (Wicks) Cooper. He attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. Dick drove truck for the NYS Department of Transportation. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake. Most of all, Dick loved spending time with his family and friends. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always helping a friend in need.
