Mary Owens Wright, 85, of Beaver Dams, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was born in Montour Falls, NY, on April 6, 1937, the daughter of the late James Ray Smalley and Esther Hammond Smalley, and graduated from Dundee Central School in 1955. She married her husband Jack Wright on August 8, 1959, in Dundee. He passed away in 1967.
Mary was a lifelong housewife, caring for her family. She was a member of the Moreland Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered her time at the church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making quilts.
She is survived by her children, Jim and Barb Wright, Michael Wright, and John and Jackie Wright; brother, Ralph Smalley; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mary's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Schuyler Hospital for the kindness and care given to her during her illness and passing.
There will be no services. A private burial was held by her family in Montour Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
