Himrod - On December 23, 2025, Martin J. Earle, “Marty,” 56, while surrounded by his wife and three sons, passed away peacefully at home, going from the loving embrace of his wife into the welcoming arms of his Lord.
Marty is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jody (Grossi) Earle; sons, Joshuah (Karin) Earle, Sylas (Katie) Earle, Zachariah Earle; and beloved friends Ken Nesbitt and Joe Rutkowski. He is also survived by his parents, John and Esther Earle; brothers, Shawn (Sunday) Earle and Jonathan (Kristin) Earle; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends and family across the country.
Marty attended Groton High School before studying Food Science at SUNY Morrisville. He worked a variety of jobs in retail before moving to Seneca Lake in 1996, joining the wine industry.
Marty’s true passion was for his family, whom he regularly referred to as “the four greatest loves of his life.” Marty was dedicated to the breeding and showing of Best in Show quality Polish and Dutch rabbits. He traveled throughout the U.S. for rabbit shows, where he and Jody made lifelong memories and friendships.
His other hobbies included spending time in the outdoors with his sons hunting and fishing, knowing an unreasonable amount of trivia about the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and Syracuse Basketball and Football, and talking sports with his brothers. He loved to talk about American History and the Civil War, particularly with Joshuah; searching for and planting flowers with his partner in crime, Ken Nesbitt; decorating for and finding a gnome for every single holiday with his son Zachariah; going to Buffalo Bills games with his son Sylas; and showering his daughters-in-law with anything “sunflowers.” His love of animals resulted in the addition of multiple dogs and cats to his family over the years.
Marty served the rabbit community for more than 20 years, most recently as the President of the Twin Tiers Rabbit Club, Empire State Polish Rabbit Club, and the American Polish Rabbit Club. He was highly respected and well known by thousands for his warm smile, crazy hats, his extraordinary generosity, and his commitment to the advancement of the Polish rabbit breed. He brought light into every room he entered.
Throughout Marty’s battle with cancer, he never feared death but wanted to make sure that his journey was remembered for his fighting spirit, his faith, and the assurance of his eternity.
Marty’s legacy is one of service, strength, kindness, and faith. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Monterey II Mexican Restaurant, 315 Hamilton Street, Geneva, NY 14456, on Saturday, January 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., for a time to celebrate Marty and share memories. Close family and friends are invited to stay afterward to purchase a meal to enjoy with his family, starting at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that a donation be made to aid in establishing a youth herd advancement fund for the American Polish Rabbit Club in Marty’s memory. More information about this fund and donation inquiries may be sent to Jody Earle by contacting her at [email protected].
