Martha Saunders

Martha Saunders, 70, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 7, 1954, the daughter of Ignazio and Marilyn Biamonte and raised on Long Island. She married her loving husband, David Saunders, on July 12, 1980. After moving to upstate New York, she made many friends. Martha was an avid NASCAR fan. She enjoyed boating, playing softball, darts, and shooting pool. She was predeceased by her mother, Marilyn; sisters, Barbara Craparo and Marilyn Lookadoo; granddaughter, Aria Scaptura; and brother-in-law, Robert Josephs. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, David; three children, Iggy (Shawn) Platon, Tania (Anthony) Scaptura, and David (Krista) Saunders; her father, Ignazio; four grandchildren, Arielle and Dylan Platon, Reese Tague, and Jade Scaptura; three great-grandchildren, Owen, Avery, and Cora, all who are so loved; siblings, Debbie Josephs, Joanne (Jimmy) Demetreau, Sam (Eileen) Biamonte, and Steven (Debbie) Biamonte; brother-in-law, William Lookadoo; and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Martha will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Montour Cemetery, Mill St. (Upper Entrance), Montour Falls, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12-3 pm at the Mechanics Club, 237 W. Main St., Montour Falls.
