Karen Marie (Doolittle) Bartone, 78, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was born in Montour Falls, NY, on November 27, 1946. Karen, KB, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. KB loved and laughed a lot. She gave freely of herself, offering care, compassion, and a warm smile to the young, the elderly, and everyone in between. She was generous even to strangers, always willing to help when she saw a need. Her home was open to anyone who came to her door. Karen was a pet lover, and she cherished her animals deeply.
Quite simply, Karen was kind. She learned this from her own mother, which she later instilled in Lisa, Tony, and Nick. We will continue the practice of this lesson for the rest of our lives.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Kathryn Doolittle. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Jason) Confer, Tony (Sue) Bartone, and Nick Bartone; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Chad, Tate, Jordan, Nick, Cal, and Caleb. She is also survived by her siblings, John Doolittle (Barb Donnell), Peggy (Jim) Scott, and Cheri Doolittle; and her former husband, David Bartone.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to KB's special team for their dedication and care in her final months, when she needed it the most.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the Link at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Watkins Glen, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local humane society.
