Joanne Dawn (Snyder) Dailey, age 85, of Penn Yan, New York, passed away peacefully at her home of natural causes on January 21, 2026. Joanne was born on July 11, 1940, in Elmbois, New York, to the late Harold C. "Bill" Snyder and Clara M. (Lee) Snyder. She attended Penn Yan Academy and was a member of the Class of 1958. On February 14, 1968, Joanne married the love of her life, Lloyd Paul Dailey, in Penn Yan, New York. Together, they built a life rooted in family, service, and community.

Joanne was deeply involved in local veterans' and community organizations. She proudly served as Past President of the VFW Auxiliary (Penn Yan Post #745) and was a longtime member of the Penn Yan American Legion Auxiliary (#355) and the Penn Yan Moose Lodge (#2030). Her dedication to veterans and community service was a defining part of her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lloyd Paul Dailey; her sons, Paul J. Dailey and Donald A. Dailey; and her brothers, Larry "Archie" Snyder and Eugene "Dale" Snyder. Joanne is survived by her loving family, including her daughters Sheralyn "Sherry" Fox (Bob) and Marcia Dailey, and her daughter-in-law Jody (Vail) Dailey of Florida. She is also survived by her sons Bert Dailey (Linda) of Penn Yan, Jeff Dailey (Karen) of Florida, and Ronald Dailey of Penn Yan. She is further survived by her sister Phyllis Hayes (Andrew) of Springfield, Massachusetts; her brother Alan "Herbie" Snyder (Lauren) of Penn Yan; and her sister-in-law Barb Snyder of Penn Yan.

Joanne was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Kyle, Kevin, and Kurt Dailey; Kym Fox; Brian and Michael Fox; Ryan Dailey; Erin Densen; Cody Buck; Carlee Kaish; Casey Dailey; O'Brien Dailey; and Brennan Dailey. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In her later years, Joanne shared a close bond with her dear friends Robert, Patty, and Leona, whose companionship meant so much to her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Penn Yan Elks Lodge #1722, 133 Elm Street, Penn Yan, New York. A private committal service will take place with the family at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne's memory to any local veterans organization of your choosing, reflecting her lifelong commitment to those who served. Joanne will be remembered for her strength, devotion to family, service to her community, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
