James William Glidden, formerly of Trumansburg, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Jim was born on October 24, 1943, in Ithaca, a son of the late William and Kathryn (White) Glidden. He was a naval veteran with a career as a wildlife biologist with the New York State Department of Conservation.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Glidden; son, Todd Glidden; daughter, Jessica Hunter; five grandchildren; and siblings, Ann Sprague and Tom Glidden. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg.
