Herbert I. White (87) of Newfield, New York, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 7, 2026. Born November 8, 1938, in Fort Fairfield, Maine.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters Ellen (Walter) Stiering and Lisa (Jason) June; his grandchildren Paige, Devon, Keith, Leah, Maddie, and Nick. He was predeceased by his parents, Mungo and Eva (Hill) White; siblings Reginald, Mona Louisa, and David. He is survived by his brother James (Joanne) White of Churchville, New York, and his nephew John (Harry), also of Churchville, New York. He's also survived by many friends and family members.
He retired from the Cortland County Sheriff's Department as a deputy and corrections officer. Herb was a loving family man. He loved his children and his grandchildren. They were the apple of his eye.
Services will be at 1 PM Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Reigning Miracle Ministries, 2910 Douglas Rd., Cortland, NY 13045.
