Georgine T. (Vitetta) Rosata
Georgine Rosata, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 1, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side.
Per Georgine’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, February 13, at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Waterloo, with the Rev. James Fennessy presiding. A private burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Georgine was born October 1, 1931, the daughter of the late George and Teresa (Crispo) Vitetta. She was a 1949 graduate of Waterloo High School and a 1952 graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester. Georgine was a member of the American Nurses Association and received a Certificate of Nurse Health Studies from Harvard Medical School at Brigham Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. She retired from nursing at the Taylor Brown/Geneva General Hospital in 1992.
Georgine is survived by her sons, Anthony (Clare), Daniel (Trish), and Christopher (Michelle) Rosata; her sister, Catherine McLaughlin; and sister-in-law, Barb Rosati; grandchildren Teresa (Chad) VanDeWoestyne, Anthony (Mary) Rosata, Roman (Jordan) Rachuba, and Angelo Rosata; great-grandchildren Nick and Joe VanDeWoestyne, Enzo Rosata, and Kane and Archie Rachuba; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers who took care of Georgine in her home: Brenda Guererri, Deana Guererri, Michaela Gantz, Krista Gantz, Deb Shaw, Melissa Legg, Tarra James, Corinne Smith, and Kimberly Kerr. Also, a special thank you to the Norris Drive neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pat; her sister, Mary Picirrilo; and brothers Anthony and Joseph Vitetta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis & St. Clare Parish, 35 Center Street, Waterloo, NY 13165.
