Frances R. Visconte, 81, of Auburn, NY, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Geneva General Hospital.
She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Carmen and Catherine (Cartino) Fidele. Frances resided 30 years in Syracuse and 17 in Mattydale, until making Auburn her home for the past 34 years. Frances held several jobs in her earlier years, including hairdresser, caregiver, and job coach. However, the roles she was most proud of were as Mom and Nana to her beautiful children and grandchildren. Frances enjoyed cooking Italian meals that were shared not only with her family, but to anyone wishing to join her table. She kept her heart and her door open to those in need. To unwind, Frances relaxed to her daytime soap operas.
She is survived by her beloved children: Carmella Visconte, Francine Visconte, Theresa Visconte, Catherine (Anthony) Felice, Joey Visconte; grandchildren: Andrew (Bridget) Porter, Natalie Visconte, Silene Visconte, Anthony Felice Jr.; brother John (Nancy) Fidele, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended chosen family, like Little Gracie.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Domenico and sister Carmella Squires.
Calling hours are this Tuesday, February 10th, from 4-6 PM with a brief service at 6 at Pettigrass Funeral Home in 196 Genesee St. Burial will be on Wednesday, February 11th, in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
