Dianne Wilhelmina Cooley, age 87, of Wayland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Livingston County CNR, where she had resided since 2019. Surrounded by compassionate care in her final years, Dianne’s gentle spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born on December 27, 1938, in Wayland, Dianne was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Alberta Girardin. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Alvin and “Gussie” Glover, whose devotion and guidance helped shape the kind, generous woman she became.
Dianne dedicated many hardworking years to Moore-Cottrell, where she took great pride in her work and formed lasting friendships. Her commitment to her community extended well beyond her career. She faithfully volunteered at the Wayland Fire Department, generously giving her time to prepare Meals on Wheels for neighbors in need.
Dianne found true joy in helping others, and her quiet acts of kindness left a meaningful and lasting impact on the community she so dearly loved.
In her free time, Dianne cherished life’s simple pleasures. She had a special talent for crocheting, often creating beautiful handmade treasures for family and friends. She also enjoyed working on puzzles, always ready to tackle a new challenge at the kitchen table.
Dianne was a former member of the Wayland United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and nurtured her faith among dear friends.
Her life was marked by dedication, generosity, and an appreciation for life’s small joys. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of those blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Dianne was predeceased by her sister, Jeannine Snyder.
She is survived by her loving children: Bunnie (John) Russell, Becky Gray, and Bradley (Marie Magin) Cooley; her grandchildren: Jesse (Keri) Schubmehl, Lindsay (Jeremy) Kastenhuber, Cheri (Craig) Gerber, Kerrin (Mike) Chapman, and Devin (Caroline) Cooley; her great-grandchildren: Isaac, Lucas, Lydia, Aubrie, Kaylee, Thea, Easton, Kollin, Madison, Grayson, and Emery; her sister, Jean Wolf; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dianne’s life will be celebrated from 10 AM - 12 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home in Wayland. Dianne’s funeral service will be held at 12 PM with Pastors Rob and Cheryl Parker officiating. She will be laid to rest with her family at Village Cemetery in Wayland.
