Christine R. (Andrus) McBride, 72, of Fayette, NY, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2026, at her residence. Christine's passing was quick, due to a heart attack, and she was in the presence of loved ones. Christine, warmly known to many as "Aunt Chris," was born on February 23, 1953; first born daughter of Charlie and Barbara Andrus. She was raised in South Butler, NY, and was a graduate of North Rose Wolcott High School. Out of high school, Christine soon married and widowed Ray William "Bill" Garrett and gave birth to her first and only child, Philip Michael Garrett, a son she loved and cared for deeply and whom she is survived by upon her passing. Later in life, Christine married William F. "Bill" McBride, and they spent 36 happy years together before she was widowed again in 2016. Through Bill, Christine gained and is survived by a stepdaughter, Tina (McBride) Pratt, and a stepson, Gary McBride; five grandchildren, Jason McBride, Stephanie Falk, Brandon Pratt, Paul McBride, and Jennifer McBride. Christine formed a special bond with her grandson Paul "Paulie" McBride, as he lived with Christine, Bill, and her son Philip Michael for his last few years of high school. It was a full house that offered lots of love and family support.
Christine is also survived by her brother Philip Andrus, sister Penny (Andrus) Eastman, and sister Wanda (Andrus) Perry, along with several nieces and nephews. To her credit, Christine was a skilled mechanic and crack shot at the range. But on the softer side, she also loved working in her flower garden and watching the birds at her bird feeder. One of Christine's greatest enjoyments in life was spending time at her cottage on Cayuga Lake. She loved being part of that small lake community and hosting gatherings at her cottage and home. During the holidays, her door was always open to friends, family, and neighbors, and there was always an extra seat at the table for whomever needed it. "Aunt Chris" was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Christine Rose (Andrus) McBride was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Barbara Andrus; her first husband, Ray William "Bill" Garrett; her second husband, William "Bill" McBride; her brother Charlie Andrus; and her nephew, Charlie "Chuckie" Andrus. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, from 4-5 p.m., followed by a funeral, which will be held at 5 p.m. at Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY. For those wishing, donations in her memory may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
