Anthony J. Burin of Odessa, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born on August 29, 1951, the son of the late John J. and Teresa (Cieri) Burin. On June 29, 1985, he married Rebecca A. Burin at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Troy, PA.
Tony is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rebecca A. Burin; stepson, David Buffington, and his wife, Meredith Coeyman, of Burlington, VT. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Mary Teresa and Donald Crotty of Seminole, FL, John and Mary Burin of Elmira, and Anne Longwell of Horseheads, NY. Tony was the grandfather to Leo and Mila Buffington. Tony had many nieces and nephews: John, Matthew, and Joey Burin; Kristen Najera; Michelle Vorobel; Sarah, Jimmy, and Harry Longwell; and great uncle to Morgan, Marisa, Matthew, Jacob, and Emily.
Tony was an avid fisherman and hunter, taking many trips with friends to Montana, Alaska, Canada, and Florida. All of the trips seemed to end with entertaining and many times hilarious escapades. Reminiscing provided respite during a long hospital stay.
At Tony's request, family and friends will gather in the spring for a time of remembrance and to honor Tony's wishes for dispensing his ashes.
