You’re invited to attend a presentation at the Wood Library in Canandaigua that will examine the history of de-icing agents, such as road salt and its environmental impact in the Finger Lakes.
Thursday’s presentation by Dr. Bruce Gilman will also include a presentation of the ongoing tributary sampling program established by his student volunteers at Finger Lakes Community College.
There will also be a talk on the best management practices that several Finger Lakes municipalities will be implementing to help minimize the impacts of de-icing agents on local waterways.
