Hobart senior attackman Alex Rosa (West Genesee/Syracuse, N.Y.) was named the Under Armour Atlantic 10 Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week today. He led the Statesmen to a 21-12 win over Canius to open the season on Saturday.
Rosa scored a career and game-high five goals on just seven shots against the Golden Griffins. He also recorded three ground balls and a caused turnover. Rosa scored three times in the decisive third quarter that saw the Statesmen outscore Canisius 9-2. Two of his tallies were extra-man goals, giving him 16 for his career, tied for fifth on Hobart’s Division I list.
Rosa has started 25 of the 39 career games he’s played for Hobart, producing 45 goals and nine assists for 54 points.
Hobart (1-0) continues its season-opening four-game home stand, hosting Michigan (0-1) at noon Saturday, Feb. 15.
