Keuka College Men’s Basketball senior Lamar Lovelace (Rochester, N.Y. / Northeast College Prep) has been named Empire 8 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time in the past month, marking the first time a Keuka player has earned the honor twice in a single season.
Lovelace had a standout weekend as the Green and Gold secured a pair of road conference wins to clinch a playoff spot. He scored 29 points with four assists and five rebounds at Hartwick College, then followed up with 32 points, five assists, and nine rebounds in a win at Russell Sage College.
For the season, Lovelace has totaled 448 points, tying him for fourth in program history with games still remaining. He leads the Empire 8 Conference in scoring at 20.4 points per game and is the only player in the league averaging more than 20 points per game, despite not ranking in the top ten in minutes played. He has also been strong from the free-throw line, shooting 87.4 percent, second-best in the conference.
Lovelace and the Wolves will aim to finish the season strong with their final home games this weekend, hosting Nazareth University on Friday and St. John Fisher University on Saturday.
