For the third time in her career, Keuka College’s Dayna Edholm (Buffalo, N.Y. / Sweet Home) was selected as All-Empire 8 by the conference’s coaches.
Edholm was selected as Second Team All-Conference. She is the first Wolf to be a three-time selection in the Empire 8-era for the Women’s Volleyball team.
The graduate student led the Keuka College attack once again in 2024. Edholm led the Empire 8 Conference and ranked 25th nationally with 4.05 kills per set. She hit 356 kills on the season, the second-highest total of her career. Her total ranked as the sixth-most in a season in program history.
For her career, Edholm became just the third Keuka College Women’s Volleyball player to join the 1,000-kill club and finished her career with 1,049 kills, the second-most in history.
Also honored on Wednesday was senior Bryn Straub (Irondequoit, N.Y. / Irondequoit). She was Keuka College’s selection of Sportswoman of the Year. Straub had a career year for the Green and Gold, hitting over 100 kills, leading the team in blocks, and ranking eighth in the Empire 8 in hitting percentage.
Straub was one of 12 from the conference honored. From the conference’s release, “The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that ‘Competing with Honor and Integrity’ is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.”
