Dundee’s Peyton Mullin is bringing home another state championship. The Dundee sophomore won the high school girls wrestling state championship in the 235 pound bracket on Thursday in Albany.

The overall #1 seed in the bracket came into the tournament undefeated at 23-0. In the first round, she defeated the #16 seed from Indian River out of Section Three 10-0 via technical fall. In the quarterfinal round, Mullin pinned the #9 seed from Section Two’s Averill Park by pin in :29.  In what maybe the most impressive statistic from the overall tournament, Peyton advanced to the State Championship match by winning her semifinal contest against the #4 seed out of Section Six by pin in just :08 seconds! In the final match of the night, Mullin pinned Mia Flores, who was the #6 seed out of Section 8 in :24 seconds.

Mullin finished the season 27-0 and unscored upon.

Mullin wasn’t the only member of the Dundee-Bradford-Penn Yan wrestling team to compete in the state tournament. Her teammate, Emma Sorce in her first-season wrestling lost both of her matches on Thursday.
