History was made over the weekend when Dundee freshman Peyton Mullin won the school’s first-ever state championship in wrestling when she pinned the defending state champion in Syracuse. We spoke with Peyton who said she was still trying to take it all in.

Peyton said she had set goals for this season, but winning a state championship as a freshman wasn’t one of them.

Mullin said she began wrestling at the age of four thanks to her dad and had plenty of help from coaches from Penn Yan, Waterloo, and Dundee along the way, including head coach Sheldon Gibson.  We will have more from Peyton and Coach Gibson this week.
