Cayuga Community College Men’s Soccer remains undefeated with one game left in the regular season after earning a road win over Tompkins Cortland Community College on Wednesday.

The Spartans pulled away in the second half with five goals to earn the 6-0 win over the Panthers. The win over Tompkins Cortland followed a 5-0 home win Friday against Jamestown Community College in which Jake Botterill scored all of Cayuga’s goals.

On Wednesday the Panthers held Cayuga to a lone goal in the first half, but the Spartans shut down the Panthers’ attack to hold a 1-0 lead at halftime. Cayuga broke out with five goals in the second half while their defense continued to hold Tompkins Cortland scoreless.

Botterill followed up Friday’s five-goal effort with three more scores against the Panthers, with Bigad Sid and Joe Edet each contributing two assists. Jack Thomas had a goal and assist, Kai Reading and Tyrese Osayande had goals, and Jordan Mati had the final assist.

Cayuga is now 13-0 on the season and finishes the regular season with a 6-0 record in Mid-State Athletic Conference play. They end the regular season on the road at SUNY Niagara on Saturday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
