149 Girls Compete for Sectional Wrestling Championships in Dundee

The Section V Girls Wrestling Sectional and State Qualifier brought 33 schools and 149 wrestlers to the Dundee School gymnasium on Friday.

Dundee-Bradford-Penn Yan had a standout night, sending four wrestlers to the semifinals and three to the finals. Hannah Russell finished third in the 185-pound class, while Emma Sorce earned second place in the 152-pound class for the second year in a row.

In the heavyweight division, Zoey White and two-time defending State Champion Peyton Mullin took first in their matches, proving themselves the best in Section V. Both wrestlers will advance to the New York State Championships in Albany on Thursday, February 26th.

The team finished sixth overall out of 33 schools.
