A Wednesday morning fire saw extensive damage to a Cayuga County home and resulted in the death of several family pets.
New Hope Fire Department reports responding to the structure fire in the 5900 Block of Franklin Road in Sempronius along with Sempronius, West Niles, Moravia and Owasco, and 4 Town First Aid just after 9:00a. Locke, Fleming 1, Fleming 2, Genoa, Scipio, Aurelius and Homer also assisted.
Three dogs were rescued from the blaze; however, several pets perished.
The residents of the home will be staying with family.
