A proposed amendment to the City of Auburn’s nuisance ordinance could affect marijuana shops within the city.
City Clerk Chuck Mason says, if passed, unlicensed pot shops could be declared nuisances.
The city’s Nuisance Abatement Committee has the power to close businesses found to be public nuisances.
The proposed amendment had its first reading at Thursday’s City Council meeting. A public hearing on the matter will take place at a future meeting.
