Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Concerned Over FCC’s Broadband Map

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is raising concerns over the Federal Communications Commission’s Broadband map.

Tenney penned a letter to the FCC saying the commission labelled nearly 32-thousand New York locations as having high speed broadband access when, according to the state’s Public Service Commission, they do not.

She also criticized the methodology used in making the map and says the FCC needs to extend its deadline to file disputes with the commission which originally ended last Friday.

The Broadband map is used when determining eligibility for federal broadband grants including the those for rural areas.
