The state senator representing Cayuga County has a new assignment.
Senator Rachel May has been appointed to chair the Senate Cities II Committee which works on issues specifically affecting Upstate cities.
She will also continue chairing the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources.
Due to redistricting, May’s 48th Senate district includes Cayuga County and parts of Onondaga County, including Elbridge, Marcellus, and Syracuse.
