Another scam to warn you about.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reports scammers may be using the inmate search feature on the Sheriff’s Department’s App to contact family members, falsely claiming they can help release loved ones for a fee.
Again, the sheriff’s office advises you to not send money or share personal information if you are contacted and to verify any claims with official sources.
