Watkins Glen Delays Purchase of New Fire Truck

It will be a little while longer before the Watkins Glen Village Board signs off on the purchase of a new fire truck to replace one that is 24 years old.

A decision at this week’s board meeting will delay a decision on a new aerial ladder truck for the fire department by the board until it gathers more information on grants and other options. The Odessa File reports Mayor Laurie DeNardo said she would prefer to come up with a plan before financing the $1.5 million vehicle.
