Preparation work started this week in the village of Penn Yan to replace the water main on Main Street from Clinton to Court Street and on Court Street from Main to Keuka.
The replacement will begin Monday and the road will be closed to one lane with traffic control devices placed. After the water main is replaced, Main Street, from Clinton to Court Street will be rebuilt.
That work is expected to start in May and will force the road to be closed except for local traffic only.
