The Village of Penn Yan has received the American Public Works Association (APWA) Small Cities / Rural Communities Project of the Year for Main Street Rehabilitation.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Village of Penn Yan’s Department of Public Works wrote, ‘This could not have been possible without our phenomenal Department of Public Works staff, Contractor – City Hill Construction Inc., and Engineer – Elliott Engineering Solutions. We are very proud of this award and project for our community! Thank you all for your support of our necessary infrastructure projects.”
The Main Street project lasted from March until October and included the replacement of water and gas mains from the Elm/Main Street intersection to Maiden Lane. The project also included the installation of new sidewalks as well.
