Update: Pedestrian Struck By Car in Ithaca Released From Hospital

Police say a pedestrian who was critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck on Elmira Road has been released from the hospital and is recovering.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, the crash occurred on Elmira Road in Ithaca on Feb. 10, causing a road closure for several hours.

Investigators determined the pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound struck them while they were in the road.

The pedestrian was initially transported to a local trauma center in critical condition and treated for their injuries. Police said the individual has since been released and is continuing to recover.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the New York State Police. Authorities said no further details are being released at this time.
