Truck Hauling Donated Blood Tips Over on I-86

The driver of a box truck hauling cases of donated blood for the American Red Cross escaped injury after his rig rolled over on Interstate 86 in Steuben County.

The accident happened in the westbound lanes between exits 37 and 38 at around three Sunday morning. The American Red Cross said the blood products were retrieved, inspected, and deemed safe for use, and then transported to the original destinations.

The cause of the investigation is ongoing.
