A $30.1 million budget for the next school year was approved this week by the Watkins Glen Board of Education.
The proposed spending plan includes a tax rate of $8.72 per $1,000 of assessed value, down $1.87 from this year. Spending in the budget is up 2.58 percent. The district will hold a public hearing on the budget on May 7th will residents cast their ballots two weeks later, on May 21st
