Rep. Langworthy Opposes Hochul’s Plan To Add Medicaid Costs to Counties

A proposal included in the Governor’s 2024 Executive Budget is being given the thumbs down by Congressman Nick Langworthy.

The proposal to utilize the Enhanced Federal Medical Assistance Percentage funds designated for counties and local governments could lead to up to $1 billion in new Medicaid costs. According to the New York Association of Counties, $746,000 in funding would be cut from Schuyler County and Steuben County would see $3.87 million slashed.

Langworthy and other members of the New York delegation have sent a letter to Governor Kathy Hochul to reverse her decision.
