With 30 years in the Penn Yan School District, including the last nine spent as superintendent, Howard Dennis has announced he will retire in January 2025. We asked Howard what led to his decision.

Dennis said as with any retirement, the decision results in many mixed emotions.

Dennis came to Penn Yan as an eighth-grade social studies teacher, a role he held for 10 years. He then shifted to supporting teachers in staff development. He later took on the role of Assistant Superintendent for Staff Instruction before being named Superintendent in 2015.
