A number of local schools’ music departments have been recognized by a national organization whose mission is to advance active participation in music.
The Penn Yan, Marcus Whitman, Ithaca, Honeoye, Pal-Mac, and Bloomfield music departments have been honored by the National Association of Music Merchants, for their outstanding commitment to music education.
Now in its 24th year, the designation is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
